Lovely atmosphere you've managed to create, so fairytale-like. And the cute foxes really add to the picture I imagine the aged woman in the time she was young and envision all those stories she had told until she came to this age.
Alright, after seeing this absolutely and completely stunning piece of art -- how do you achieve that painted look in your artworks? I can see the canvas texture overlay, in this and other pictures, but that can't be all... share your secret? Please?
This, like many of your pieces, reminds me so much of the great French Impressionist paintings. If only Monet or Pissarro had decided to add fantasy figures into their foregrounds. Gazing upon your artworks brings me the same satisfaction I seek when I look upon those Old Masters: I am transported to another place and time a place and time of quiet wonder, of stillness and solace, of epiphanous reveries. Into what for me are the eternal fields for reflection that are the impressionist dreamscapes, your pieces bring characters and other elements (the storyteller and her fox listeners) for me to spend some quality (daydreaming) time with.
I'm not sure why it has taken nearly two years for me to reply to this utterly beautiful compliment. I feel sad that I let so much time go by without telling you how much it means to me. I was revisiting this piece today, and stumbled across this comment... and felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude as I read it. Thank you, my friend.
