"Seeing is different than being told."
Proverb from Kenya ----------- In between the collaborations I have in the works, I found this photograph and was instantly touched by it. I knew I wanted to make something from it... and just followed the inspiration as I went along. As I researched Kenya, where this girl is from, I was struck by the fact that Kenya... much like the Himalayas (and the focus of another of my manipulations of the same name: [link])... is a butterfly rich country. And so it made sense to adorn this young one with the intense, piercing gaze... with the brilliance of butterflies. I chose to make this piece in more of a 'collage' form. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
