I recently entered a photoshop contest over at PopPhoto.com [link] in which you had to use at least four
of twelve photos they provided you. You could use any plugins, or any
photo editing you wished... you simply could not use any additional images.

So, here was my first entry. This link [link] will take you to my scraps
where I've posted this image alongside the four images I used to create it,
along with a description of what I did.

I LOVE these kinds of challenges, where you literally have to make something with
pictures you would never select as stock.

All photos used belong to PopPhoto.

An amazing piece of work. Looking at the originals makes it all the more amazing too. :+fav:

Rediculously good, a winner if ever I saw one. This reminds me of a fairytale book my sister had when we were little, (back in the dark ages) they were attempting some kind of 3D effect. It jumped out at you and the colours were really strong, like they are in your image. Great, love it.

it is very pretty but I acknowledge that the tail of the cat is a detail which I like much! :D

Wow what did you do cut out all the viney things going up the house? This one's really cute too I love the cat!

 Thank you!! Oh man, those vines took fooorrrever. lol Most of them were done with the clone tool actually. Some things were cut out (blossoms, etc). But I would narrow down my clone tool to be more like a pencil, and drew/cloned lots of those from the bushes. :faint:

It's funny, because - after I did this, I was all stoked to make another cottage on my own. But I found it exceedingly difficult to pick out stock and avoid cottages that already had too much detail. By making it with pictures of their choosing, it really made me *have* to work with what I had, and get creative with the details.

Thank you so very much!! I know the exact kind of book you are talking about - I had some of those too, where they were so bright and vivid, and had that kind of weird 3D thing going on. :D I saw one in a thrift store the other day... I should have bought it!
