2008 update: To some of my old watchers - sorry for the repeat. I've reloaded 'Columbus' with my new watermark, huzzah! Long live the lil' squirrel.

EDIT: Oh....WOW!! :faint: I just woke up and discovered that Columbus is perched there amongst the DD's... THANK YOU!!!! That is so awesome. Viva la squirrel!!!

Artist's Notes: I've had this picture in my mind for quite awhile. As a child, my treasured stuffed animal (as all children tend to have) was a little squirrel who went on every kind of adventure with me, and my favorite story was about a lil' squirrel named "Miss Suzy" - written by Miriam Young, and illustrated by Arnold Lobel.

I love the thought of the tiny leaf-boat capturing the attention of the denizens of the pond as it passes by en route to a wonderous place.

Columbus is an AWESOME name for a squirrel! (almost as good as Green Paw Jack Bologna--truth, that is what we named our TY stuffed squirrel. He deserved it.) Love the gold fish swimming underneath him as well as the lantern.

I don't know which part I like the most, the lantern, the fish, or the little claws ready to defend the poor guy if anything should happen
