Every year, for about a month, the 'sunflowers' spread like wildfire across the foothills behind my house. They are actually called Arrowleaf Balsamroot, and are usually accompanied by Silky Lupine, and Douglas' Brodiaea. Every year, I can't resist taking pictures of them. I look forward to their beauty and color all winter.
Took this picture this afternoon, with the warm sun still slanting over the tops of the Cascade Mountains. With such low humidity in the area, the sky looks so amazingly blue. Makes me remember why I've never wanted to move away from this area, even though I've lived here my whole life.
Editing: None - didn't even have to saturate the colors. This was how the camera saw it, and I was elated to capture it!

How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true; But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face. W.B Yeats
